Shippensburg American Legion Post 223 Welcomes You

About

A Bit of Background

Our post was organized by all WWI veterans and we have all the history dating back to the first days of the post. We have discharge papers, death certificates, original charters and many original pictures. The first honor guard was formed in 1919 and they were called the Minute Men with 6 original members. The Minute Men still exist today with 23 members performing Military Honors at funerals, marching in parades and participating in other functions.
